Rebecca Warren: Metropolis at Matthew Marks features thirteen new hand-painted bronze sculptures, including ten life-size female figures with shifting forms, exaggerated limbs, and fragmented clothing. Cast elements resembling tools intertwine with their bodies, suggesting both relics and prosthetics. Alongside, two assemblages evoke surreal function and presence. The works occupy a space of transformation and uncertainty, confronting the boundaries of form, identity, and perception.
