Margot Samel presents Mirror stage, a new body of work by Olivia Jia. Through imagined books, personal photos, and artifacts from Chinese and American art history, Jia constructs scenes that reflect on memory, migration, and inherited experience. Her hyper-real paintings explore the emotional gaps left by fractured histories, asking how personal and collective pasts shape identity. Jia’s work meditates on what it means to see, feel, and reimagine the archives we inherit.
