*Mirrored Dreams* pairs drawings by Arminée Chahbazian with glass sculpture by Minami Oya. Chahbazian layers graphite, duralar and glass beads into imagined landscapes built from unlikely pairings, such as an iceberg and a balloon. Oya silvers the insides of hand-blown glass so her forms shift between object and portal. Both artists hold opposing elements in tension, reflecting on change, perception and loss.

Arminée Chahbazian

Arminée Chahbazian is a visual artist based in Northern California for over 30 years, born in Colorado. She holds an MFA from Yale and a BA from Scripps College. Working in graphite, colored pencil, duralar, glass beads and wire, she builds layered, imagined landscapes. Her work has been shown across the US and in France and Holland, including at the di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art.

Minami Oya

Minami Oya is a visual artist, glassmaker and educator living in San Francisco. Born and raised on Sado Island, Japan, she discovered glass at San Francisco State University in 2008, trained at Pilchuck, Corning and in Murano, and holds an MFA in Spatial Art from San Jose State. She has taught at California College of the Arts and Public Glass.
