Mythologies of a Mexican Boy at Wonzimer marks Vasco Del Rey’s first solo show with the gallery. Rooted in rupture, ritual, and remembrance, the work transforms memory and absence into a mythic language. Figures appear as vessels, prayers, and altars, embodying longing, resilience, and fractured identity. Drawing on childhood memories of Mexico and life in Los Angeles, Vasco elevates what is overlooked, turning survival and displacement into sacred expression.
