Scott Alario: Mother, Mother Ocean presents photograph-based ceramic reliefs that carry images of family life along Narragansett Bay onto glazed clay surfaces. Alario transfers black-and-white photographs onto panels marked by cracks, glaze blooms, and embedded beach finds like glass and porcelain. Drawing on chance, chemistry, and collaboration, the works treat ceramics as vessels for memory, where permanence and fragility coexist in attempts to hold fleeting moments, childhood, and place.
