Mothers of Time is an exhibition featuring seven new paintings by Amorelle Jacox, marking her first New York solo exhibition. Imagining time as born of seven mothers—Light, Shadow, Cosmos, Void, Matter, Movement, and Number—Jacox renders each as a figure surrounding the gallery like the ticks of a clock face. Built from hourglasses, spirals, and deep color fields, the works collapse body and duration, treating time not as a separate entity but as multitudinous, embodied, and felt.
