Miles McEnery Gallery presents Mothership, the New York debut of French painter Mathieu Cherkit, on view 26 June–15 August. Cherkit’s new paintings depict interiors shaped by memory and perception rather than realism. Shifting scale, warped perspective, and rich textures evoke how familiar spaces are emotionally processed over time. Thick brushwork highlights personal details, and paint spills beyond the canvas, echoing the blurred edges of memory and lived experience.
