Nascence is an exhibition of new ceramic vessels, wall reliefs, and watercolors by Maddy Inez, rooted in her research into plants—hibiscus, za'atar, poppies, wild thyme—that carry deep medicinal and historical significance. Inez traces flora displaced through colonization and the transatlantic slave trade, positioning gardening as an act of resistance. The title names the moment before a bloom: the revolution being built, one seed at a time, is just in its nascency.
