Per Kirkeby: Natures Mortes at Michael Werner Gallery presents still lifes from 2005–2012, uniting Northern European traditions with Kirkeby’s distinct vision. Drawing from Caspar David Friedrich’s dramatic landscapes and Willem Claesz Heda’s still lifes, these works reflect Kirkeby’s resolution of an artistic crisis in the 1980s. The exhibition also features two monumental bronze sculptures, affirming his enduring dialogue with history and form.
