Carol Bove
Gagosian presents Nights of Cabiria, a solo exhibition of new sculptures by Carol Bove at its Beverly Hills gallery. Referencing Los Angeles’s Cold War–era industrial legacy, Bove incorporates reclaimed scaffolding into her works and exhibition design. Her sculptures—featuring crumpled steel, polished disks, and bold color—challenge expectations of materiality while engaging with the building’s architecture and local manufacturing history.

Carol Bove

Carol Bove (b. 1971, Geneva, Switzerland) is a New York-based artist known for her large-scale sculptures that blend industrial materials with organic forms. Her work explores modernist legacies through compositions of crushed steel, found objects, and vibrant color. Bove’s “collage sculptures” challenge notions of permanence and perception, combining precision with spontaneity. She represented Switzerland at the 2011 Venice Biennale and has exhibited at institutions including The Museum of Modern Art, The Met, and the Whitney Museum. In 2021, she created a major façade installation for The Met. Bove’s practice continually redefines sculptural language by embracing contradiction, fluidity, and transformation.
