Viola Frey: Observed and Gathered at The Pit presents major ceramic works, paintings, and drawings from 1980–2004 by Viola Frey, marking her first solo LA show in over 30 years. Known for her monumental figures and vibrant glazes, Frey pushed ceramics into fine art while exploring identity, power, and culture. The exhibition includes iconic sculptures and smaller bricolage pieces, and coincides with the release of her first comprehensive monograph.
