*On, In, Off the Grid* brings together abstract paintings, mixed-media works, and works on paper by eleven artists whose practices employ the grid as a generative structure for sustained formal and conceptual inquiry. Across shifting, fragmented, and morphing patterns, the works investigate spatial, optical, and perceptual relationships. Repetition, interval, motif, and color alternately reinforce the grid’s structural logic and disrupt its systems, producing variation, instability, and new compositional possibilities.
