Chuck Close: On Paper brings together watercolors, drawings, Polaroids, maquettes, and prints from the 1970s to the 2010s. The exhibition highlights paper as a central material in Close’s portrait practice, tracing his grid-based process and use of repetitive marks to construct large-scale likenesses. Works include portraits of artists and cultural figures, as well as self-portraits.
