Blinn and Lambert’s Only out an hour is a durational installation centered on stillness and incremental change. Two large canvases cover the gallery windows, filtering daylight and serving as projection surfaces for 35mm slide carousels that advance at differing intervals tied to solar and human time. Abstract forms in a restrained palette shift gradually, encouraging sustained attention to subtle variations in shape and tone.

Blinn + Lambert

Blinn and Lambert is the collaborative name of Brooklyn-based artists Nicholas Steindorf and Kyle Williams, active since 2016, working in optical media, video, and animation. Steindorf and Williams earned MFAs from the Yale School of Art in 2014 and 2015. Their work has been exhibited at Guest Gallery, Microscope Gallery, Nathalie Karg Gallery, Below Grand, the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and ArtSpace, with films screened internationally, and residencies at LIFT Film Studio and the Institute for Electronic Arts.
