Out of Hand: New Ceramic Sculpture presents new works by Elisa D’Arrigo that emphasize an improvisational approach to clay. The sculptures are formed through responsive, intuitive processes that give rise to anthropomorphic forms marked by humor, vulnerability, and physical tension. Layered glazes create tactile surfaces that heighten each work’s expressive presence and sense of animated gesture.
