Shepard Fairey

Shepard Fairey (b. 1970, Charleston, SC) is an influential street artist who began his career with the 1989 “Andre the Giant has a Posse” sticker, later becoming the OBEY GIANT campaign. His work includes the iconic 2008 Obama “Hope” portrait and the 2017 “We the People” series. His touring retrospective, Facing the Giant: Three Decades of Dissent, has traveled globally since 2019.
