Painter/Model explores the evolving artist-sitter dynamic, from Picasso’s 1963 works to contemporary reinterpretations. Artists interrogate intimacy, power, and representation, revealing eroticism, hierarchy, and agency. Fischl, Schutz, Rego, BanBan, Joffe, and others challenge tradition, subvert the gaze, and imagine reciprocity.
