Pause and Flow is Youngju Joung’s second solo exhibition with the gallery. Drawing on her upbringing in Seoul’s dal dong nae, Joung depicts hillside settlements shaped by postwar urbanization. She paints on creased and reused hanji, referencing materials common to working class households. The textured surfaces and scattered lights hold memory and hardship in tension.
