Liz Magor’s work features sculptures that transform everyday objects into uncanny, almost living forms. In Episode2024, cardboard casts in gypsum create compressed chambers balanced on bowed legs, evoking tension between permanence and fragility. Her art explores collisions—hard vs. soft, fleeting vs. lasting—and invites viewers to project narratives and empathy onto the inanimate. Over four decades, Magor has used traditional mold-making to examine comfort and attachment through familiar, transient items.
