Inspired by John Ashbery’s poem "Self-Portrait in a Convex Mirror," the exhibition "Something like living occurs" explores the complexities of representation through works by Alessandra Acierno, Max Jahn, Nick Jensen, and Aks Misyuta. Their art examines the shifting boundaries between figure and ground, with figures dissolving, merging, or appearing distorted. Each piece reflects the challenge of capturing identity and presence, much like Parmigianino’s distorted self-portrait that inspired Ashbery’s reflections.
