CANADA presents Plein Meandering, a solo project room exhibition by Ken D. Resseger. Intimate in scale, the paintings draw on Surrealism and 19th-century Tonalism to conjure moody, familiar-yet-strange scenes — storm clouds, lamp-lit interiors, mysterious light suggesting otherworldly presence. Resseger builds images slowly through layered addition and erasure, leaving incomplete passages whose blank spots carry the residue of removal. Warm earth tones and a quavering, skin-like surface hold comfort and unease in equal measure.
