Miguel Martinez presents an installation of painted masks suspended from the gallery ceiling. Made from paper forms with carved foam extensions, the masks draw on Mexican folk traditions and references to performance, music, and queer spectacle. The project connects sculpture, text, and performance, introducing characters rooted in ideas of pre-creation, translation, and spiritual imagination, and reflecting an ongoing investigation into ritual, embodiment, and transformation.
