Magenta Plains presents Realia, Matt Keegan’s first solo exhibition with the gallery, featuring new paintings and mixed media sculptures. Drawing from an archive of ESL flashcards made by his mother, a Cuban American teacher, Keegan reworks mass-media imagery to explore language, image, and meaning. The works—ranging from oil paintings to steel and resin sculptures—turn instructional materials into poetic compositions, inviting viewers to engage with visual language in unexpected ways.
