All Street Gallery presents Recalculating route…, a group exhibition curated by Queenie Wu, which brings together artists whose practices challenge the standards of locative media, where value is derived from legibility. Navigation technologies, geospatial platforms, and mapping tools have long promised to make place more accessible, more searchable, more shareable, and more known. But that legibility comes at a cost. The closer in detail a place is mapped, the further it moves from the people nearest to it.
