Gregory Halili’s new sculptures, titled Comets, assemble fragments of found objects fused by heat into dense, orbital forms that retain traces of their past lives. Departing from his meticulous mother-of-pearl paintings, Halili expands his precision into three dimensions, working slowly and intuitively. Built from thrifted and antique materials, the works reflect a collector’s curiosity, linking craft, history, and discovery across time.
