Rising Sun, Falling Rain follows the development of ukiyo-e and the later shin-hanga movement through over eighty woodblock prints from the Grunwald Center. Featuring artists like Hokusai, Hiroshige, and Hasui, the exhibition reflects how the genre evolved in response to changing societal forces. From early depictions of urban nightlife to later portrayals of landscapes and folklore, these prints highlight the lasting impact of Japanese printmaking on global visual culture.
