Ron Isaacs: Fiction/Nonfiction presents sculptural wall constructions fabricated from painted birch plywood that blur the boundaries between painting and sculpture through trompe l'oeil illusion and extraordinary craftsmanship. Depicting garments, botanical forms, and found objects with astonishing realism, the works invite meditation on memory, transformation, and material perception while simultaneously exposing their own constructed nature. Vintage clothing recurs throughout as an anthropomorphic stand-in for the absent figure, carrying traces of personal and collective history. The resulting objects exist in dynamic tension between illusion and objecthood, balancing humor, elegance, and psychological resonance.
