Broadway announces Room Service, a solo exhibition of sewn-vinyl wall sculptures by Al Freeman, in collaboration with 56 Henry. This debut show at the gallery features crumpled fragments of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony as torn sheet music, alongside hotel room-inspired tableaux of beds, coins, bottles, and fading flowers. Evoking scatter art, Pop, Minimalism, and Matisse cutouts, Freeman blends irony and art history, channeling Wallace Stevens’ Domination of Black to explore creeping dread and discontent.
