Sam Creasey’s *Mongrel Herald*, his second solo show at Andrew Reed Gallery, presents hybrid works that layer carved ceramic reliefs, artist-built frames and woodwork over figurative oil paintings. The narrative tableaux turn on architecture, people’s psychological ties to built environments and the reach of power, drawing on images of privatization, urban expansion and shifting nationhood in his native United Kingdom.
