Wally Hedrick, born June 2, 1928, died December 12, 2003, was an American artist associated with Assemblage and Beat culture, a cofounder of the Ferus Gallery in Los Angeles, known for paintings, sculpture, and works often painted over in black, influential in postwar West Coast art and countercultural movements..
