Shaper of God: Apple Valley Autonomy presents sculptures and drawings by American Artist honoring Octavia E. Butler. Drawing on Butler’s archive at the Huntington Library, the exhibition reflects on the writer’s legacy while foregrounding the overlooked roles of her mother, a domestic worker, and grandmother, a ranch owner, whose labor and resilience enabled Butler’s groundbreaking literary career.
