Silent Sirens surveys forty years of paintings by Bruce Richards. Since the late 1970s, Richards has depicted everyday objects isolated against dark grounds, investing them with allegorical charge. Works from 1984 to 2025 trace recurring subjects including fire, chairs, love letters, candles, and weathervanes, examining narrative, politics, and the unstable distance between image and meaning.
