M+B presents Somewhere Else, Right Here, a two-person exhibition featuring Matthew Rosenquist and Rob Thom, opening April 11, 2025. Rosenquist’s carved wooden figures reflect the odd grace of Los Angeles life, with a folkloric touch that explores identity and social positioning. Thom’s vibrant, dreamlike landscapes mix California imagery with a longing for a lost version of the place, combining elements of memory and fantasy. Together, their works offer a surreal, introspective view of L.A. as a place of reinvention and aspiration.
