Sonic Transmissions is an exhibition of film and sound works by Sky Hopinka that foregrounds listening as a primary mode of encounter. Bringing together videos created between 2016 and 2025 alongside text and an artist-curated playlist, the exhibition explores memory, language, music, and presence through layered sound and moving image. Drawing from archival recordings, songs, conversations, and narration, the works resist ethnographic framing and instead situate Indigenous experience as contemporary, relational, and ongoing.
