Dominique Porter Gallery's inaugural group exhibition features work by nine artists exploring temporality and the significance of moments not yet fully understood. Taking its name from John O'Donohue's poem "For a New Beginning," the exhibition marks both the opening of a new gallery space and reflects on loss following the gallery founder's home being destroyed in the January 2025 Eaton wildfire. The works engage imagery and sentiment of that which is anticipated but not yet knowable, presenting studies in the frailty of moments whose full significance is often revealed only in retrospect. Featuring ceramics, wall-based works, and textile compositions, the exhibition explores natural splendor, abstraction, and surreal still life, unified by a shared commitment to the sublime and inviting contemplation of emotional familiarity.
