Southpaw: Gerasimos Floratos & Karel Appel is organized in collaboration with the Karel Appel Foundation. The exhibition stages a dialogue between the two artists, tracing affinities across three generations. Born in Amsterdam in 1921, Appel developed a practice informed by children’s drawing and Outsider Art. Floratos, born in New York in 1986, is self taught and draws from popular culture and a transatlantic identity.
