P·P·O·W presents Split, Jessica Stoller's third solo exhibition, featuring porcelain sculptures that subvert historical and cultural narratives surrounding the female body. Works like Seeing Red, a provocative tableau of ceramic components, confront issues of bodily autonomy and repression. Stoller’s smaller works depict crones, skeletons, and medusas, exploring the pathologization of the female body. Together, the pieces challenge societal norms, recontextualizing the female experience as anomalous and paradoxical.
