For his second show at Matthew Brown and first in New York since 2016, Nick Goss presents Stations, paintings and works on paper inspired by a 2024 trip to Ostend. Drawing from its wartime past and cultural legacy, Goss layers historical imagery, personal sketches, and screen-printed elements into charged, ambiguous landscapes. Figures dissolve into architecture, evoking memory, transience, and solitude. The works dwell in a state of flux, echoing Ostend’s shifting identity.
