Staying In at 1969 Gallery, curated by Michael Yuan, brings together works by 14 artists that explore interior spaces as sites of both physical and psychological depth. From domestic scenes to abstract evocations, the exhibition considers inwardness as a form of resistance to the pressures of visibility and performance. It proposes retreat as a deliberate act—one that fosters reflection, emotional clarity, and the cultivation of imagination in solitude.
