Dia Chelsea presents Steve McQueen, uniting three works exploring African diaspora narratives across two decades. Sunshine State (2022) examines identity and racial stereotypes through McQueen’s father’s story. Exodus (1992–97) follows two West Indian men in London, while Bounty (2024) features floral photographs from Grenada. Alongside Bass (2024) at Dia Beacon, these works intertwine personal and political histories, reflecting on ancestry and the Middle Passage.
