bG Gallery is proud to present a solo exhibition by Los Angeles–based painter Gay Summer Rick, Stratus. The exhibition will feature a new body of atmospheric paintings that reflect on shifting environments, layered emotions, and the beauty found within moments of uncertainty. The series takes its title from the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) definition of “Stratus” clouds: broad, layered, diffuse forms that blanket the sky with soft cover. Each painting carries this sense of enveloping presence—an embrace of light, fog, and color that reveals the resilience and wonder embedded in Southern California’s shifting skies.
