This body of work by Sara MacCulloch is informed by repeated seasonal travel through Maine and Nova Scotia, where sustained observation of landscape shapes the artist’s process. Working from photographs and plein air studies, MacCulloch develops paintings that attend to shifts in light, weather, color, and form. The works balance immediacy and reflection, translating lived moments in familiar places into considered painterly compositions.
