Dyani White Hawk: Takes Care of Them presents the Sicangu Lakota artist’s 2019 print series honoring Lakota women’s roles as leaders, creators, protectors, and nurturers. Through large-scale depictions of richly adorned Lakota dresses, White Hawk celebrates the cultural significance of these garments while exploring identity, tradition, color, texture, and the enduring strength of Plains Indigenous communities.
