*The Brockman Gallery: Los Angeles, 1967–1990* is the first large-scale exhibition on the South L.A. space founded by brothers Alonzo and Dale Brockman Davis after the Watts Rebellion. More than 60 works and rich archival material trace a gallery that nurtured young artists of color, including David Hammons, Suzanne Jackson and Carrie Mae Weems, as a site of experimentation and multicultural community.
