Sydney Cain’s debut exhibition, The Forest is the Water, presents eight works exploring Blackness, lineage, and renewal through human, animal, and floral figures in metaphysical landscapes. Using layering, erasure, and black pigments, Cain traces cycles of life, memory, and intergenerational connection. Evergreen plants, water, and natural rhythms unite the compositions, while figures act as keepers of histories and channels for future generations within luminous, dreamlike settings.
