Swiss Institute presents The Known Lost, K Allado-McDowell’s first exhibition, centered on Act I of their opera of the same name. A stage set and backdrops form a space to honor extinct species, featuring a list of 180,285 scientific names as both libretto and imagined monument. Visitors can read or sing the names, activating a collective remembrance. The monument—destined for a quarry—serves as both a record and ritual, confronting extinction and envisioning a long-term memorial to life on Earth.
