The MFAs of LA

The fourth annual "The MFAs of LA," curated by Leslie Fram, gathers 13 emerging artists from across Los Angeles, among them Will Farrell, Aster Oaks, Farzaneh Hajighasemi, Jennifer Boyd and Amanda Flowers. Last year’s edition at Good Mother Gallery drew on eight of the city’s graduate art programs; this year the annual survey of new MFA voices moves to Cevera Yoon Gallery in Koreatown.

Jacqueline Valenzuela

Jacqueline Valenzuela (b. 1997, East Los Angeles, CA) is an interdisciplinary artist whose work tells her own stories and those of other women in Chicano lowrider culture. She received a BFA in Drawing and Painting from California State University, Long Beach (2019) and is pursuing an MFA in Drawing and Painting at UCLA (expected 2027). Her debut museum solo exhibition, "Con Safos, Con Fuerzas," was at the Bakersfield Museum of Art in 2024; her work is in that museum’s collection and the AltaMed Art Collection.
