Hales presents LJ Roberts’ debut solo, The Queer Mechanix of the Lands Currently Referred to as the U.S. & Canada Before & During the 54th Year of the Stonewall Era. Roberts maps queer and trans auto mechanic shops (1969–2023) through textiles, print, and sound. Quilts, embroidery, and repurposed materials chart shop locations, roads, and histories, highlighting community, labor, mobility, and resilience within queer and trans networks across time.
