The uterus is also a fist addresses abortion and reproductive rights in Brazil, where severe legal limits and social stigma leave women with little autonomy. Few artists tackle the subject due to censorship and backlash, but members of the G.A.F. collective present small-scale works across varied media that confront these constraints. Drawing on Angélica Freitas’s poem, the show brings urgent political dialogue to a public space where it is largely suppressed.
