Bruce Conner: THREE SCREEN RAY

Exhibition on view: Jan 8, 2026 - Feb 21, 2026

THREE SCREEN RAY is a three-channel film installation by Bruce Conner that reworks and expands his earlier film COSMIC RAY. Using found footage, recorded music, and rhythmic editing, the installation explores repetition, disruption, and perceptual intensity across multiple screens. The work reflects Conner’s long-standing experimentation with montage, mutability, and the physical and temporal possibilities of film.

Working from the Bay Area beat scene onward, he layered found materials, ritual, and dark humor into work that probed mortality, mass media, and the atomic age. CROSSROADS and REPORT remain landmarks of experimental cinema.
